Glenview Glass & Screen Inc. is a family-owned business, proudly serving San Diego County since 1990. Founded by Donald R. Hall in the Glenview area of El Cajon, our company continues a long tradition of craftsmanship, service, and community rooted in the Hall family name.

The Hall family’s history in El Cajon stretches back five generations. It began in 1897, when Wilson D. Hall and his wife Florence (niece of Ulysses S. Grant) opened W.D. Hall Co.—the city’s first lumber yard and firehouse—alongside their sons, Rex and Julian. Their grandson, Rex Hall Jr., carried the legacy forward by establishing Inland Supply Co., a thriving hardware store that operated for over 20 years.

When Inland Supply Co. closed its doors in 1990, Donald R. Hall honored his family’s tradition by founding Glenview Glass & Screen. Today, more than 30 years later, the business is led by his son, Craig Hall, with support from the next generation of family members.

Beyond glass and screens, the Halls remain deeply connected to the community. Rick Hall serves as president of the El Cajon Historical Society and as caretaker of the historic Knox House, ensuring that local history is preserved for future generations.
